Antonio
Pérez. (Ñiko). (1941).
Havana, Cuba. Designer. Graduate of History of the Art in the University
of Havana. Was professor of the Technical Institute José Antonio
Echevarría and of the Faculty of Arts, University Veracruzana,
Mexico. Started at ICAIC in 1968 designed posters for foreign and Cuban
films, and political posters as part of the revolutionary campaigns
of the 60s and 70s. Hiss work has been exhibited in numerous
collective and personal expositions, as well as in the international
biennials of Brno, Czechoslovakia; Firenze, Italy and Warsaw, Poland.
His posters have obtained prizes in Filmexpo, Ottawa, Canada, 1972 and
in the Cannes International Film Festival, France, 1973/74. He has published
numerous articles and critical on graphic design in diverse publications
and has been on juries of contests in Cuba and abroad. At present resides
in Mexico
