Japanese Movies in Cuba

Cubans love action movies, especially Westerns but the US blockade ended that romance. Che Guevara on a trip through Asia brokered a deal with Japan, sugar in exchange for cinema equipment, cameras film and movies. In an article published in Japanese design bible IDEA (#303) it is stated the Cuba was in fact the biggest customer for the Japanese film industry.

Below are the posters I've found. I may have a disproportionate collection, but the "Ichi" legend (Zatoichi) seems to feature quite strongly. Films directed by Akira Kurasawa also appeared.
